A Short biography

A= ndreas Flache is currently professor (adjunct-hoogleraar) for sociology at the sociology department of the Faculty for Behavioral and Social Sciences, at = the University of Groningen, The Netherlands. His ma= in research addresses cooperation problems and social integration, social netw= orks and learning theory. Since 2005 he leads a research project titled “T= he importance of timing and structure: modeling effects of interpersonal conta= cts on social cohesion in diverse groups”. This project is financed by the Netherlands Organization of Scientific Research (NWO) based on a grant that Flache received in 2004 in the Innovational Research Incentives Scheme (VID= I). He applies agent based computational and game theoretical modeling,  laboratory experimentation and sur= vey research. He has published recently in, e.g., American Journal of Sociology, Journal of Conflict Resolution, Rationality and Society, Journal of Mathematical Sociology, and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
